Organic SEO Vs. Cost- Per- Click (CPC)

Organic SEO (Search Engine Optimization) would result in a website popping up in the organic search results brought up by a search engine. Paid listing would mean that a website would pop up when a user enters a relevant search query but the website will be included with the paid advertising. Many believe that while paid listings are easier, organic SEO would be the better choice.

The reason why SEO is preferred is because users tend to trust these results a lot more than paid listings. This means that the clickthrough rate will be a lot higher and you would not be paying for it. It has been found that 70% to 85% of users will click on the organic listings of a search and only 30% of users will click on a paid listing.

Another thing that should be noted is that as much as 29% of users are annoyed by paid listings. As an advertiser you definitely wouldn’t want to annoy potential customers before they even see your website or your product. An organic listing would be trusted a lot more than a paid listing.

The other negative would be the fact that CPC advertising can become quite expensive. Also, the chance of the visitor being converted into a customer once they visit your website is not that great. This means that you can be paying very high fees without actually seeing very good returns on your investment. Organic SEO is much more affordable.
